Thinking about Aldo Leopold: Reﬂections on interdisciplinarity and research questions

Dr. Millstein will discuss her work-in-progress on the views of Aldo Leopold, a 20th-century forester, wildlife manager, ecologist, conservationist, and professor, best known for his posthumously published book A Sand County Almanac and the inﬂuential idea he called “THE LAND ETHIC.”

	James H. Moor is the Daniel P. Stone Professor in Intellectualand Moral Philosophy at Dartmouth College. He is a leading expert on ethics and artificial intelligence. He has written numerous articles on the philosophy of artificial intelligence and on computer ethics. His book The Turing Test: The Elusive Standard of Artificial Intelligence is a standard in the field. For almost a decade, Dr. Moor was Editor-in-Chief of the journal Minds and Machines. He is the recipient of prestigious awards such as the Barwise Prize of the American Philosophical Association and the Metaphilosophy Prize. He has been President of the Society for Machines and Mentality and President of the International Society for Ethics and information Technology.
